Do I have to be a professional in the arts?
Nope. You can indicate ‘professional’, ‘emerging’ or ‘casual’ in your profile if you want to, but you can decide for yourself what those terms mean and which one applies to you. At minimum a professional is willing to sell their work or services. An 'emerging' artists can be anyone who is trying to raise their profile in some way. You can call yourself ‘Casual’ if you don’t want to pursue professional opportunities, or don't want to put on airs.
